For the transition to Pillows Hotels, Roger Langhout has been recruited as General Manager of this new Pillows Hotel. Langhout explains: "After closing the current Sandton Hotel in early July, immediately after the Gent Jazz Festival, the radical transition works will start. Our first guests will be welcomed from the 8th of October in the new Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof, right before the start of Film Fest Gent. I have traveled a lot for my work, but that the next step in my career will take place in my favorite city and that I can open a hotel of this stature is a real gift. I can count on a valuable network here. Moreover, I lost my heart to the city of Ghent with its unique and magical atmosphere."
From 8 October 2018, Pillows Grand Hotel Reylof welcomes its guests in Ghent in the beautiful setting of the 18th century Reylof building, a city hotel/mansion built in 1724 in Louis XIV style. The client was Baron Olivier Reylof (1684-1742), a merchant's son from Ghent and a poet in Latin poetry. Since 1990, the city hotel and the accompanying coach-house have been a protected monument. The outside eye catchers are the sandstone façade and the slate mansard roof with chapels. Inside, the interior includes an imposing spiral staircase and various chimneys elegantly decorated with the utmost respect for the original empire style.
In the hotel of the future you come 'home' in pure luxury
The Pillows Hotels concept: an exceptionally personal service for a home away from home feeling in a luxurious hotel. You don't have to check in at the reception when you arrive, but you can take a seat at the central welcome table in the Living. While the host pours you your favorite drink, you can immediately ask questions about events or interesting places to visit. The Pillows hosts know all the ins and outs of the city. The Living is the heart of the hotel, not only will you receive a warm welcome here, thanks to the All day dining service you can enjoy a nice glass of wine, a quick lunch or a delicious specialty in the cozy seating areas or in front of the beautiful fireplace.
Roger Langhout: "Thanks to the combination of modest luxury and genuine personal service, our guests feel completely at home in our hotel. Moreover, it is a great honor for our team to be able to carry out this innovative luxury boutique concept. In the past, they already won prizes and with their professionalism and experience we cherish the ambition to become the best hotel in Ghent and Belgium."
More indulgence to reinforce this ambition: the delicious dishes served in the new restaurant LOF, a newly built large conservatory in the private courtyard, and the authentic and spacious meeting salons with the most recent technological installations (70-inch TV and click & share presentation system) suitable for events and meetings for up to 100 guests.
All hotel guests will be impressed by the 157 elegantly furnished rooms and suites with large windows, lots of light and unique artwork.
